Reviews
My recent visit to the coffee shop left me with mixed feelings. Despite ordering a breakfast plate with toast, avocado, and poached eggs, the dish lacked flavor, and the hard bread was disappointing. The chai latte was okay, and the mocha was standard. The overall atmosphere felt a bit messy, contributing to a less-than-ideal impression. There's room for improvement in both the food quality and ambiance for a more enjoyable experience.
Tom Yum Omelette (chefs special): 8/10
Laos Sausage w/ steamed rice ($20): 7/10
Thai Iced Tea w/ milk ($5.50): 8/10
Great food with fast service and cosy atmosphere. We enjoyed their unique twists to different breakfast foods. The Tom yum omelette and Thai milk tea were our favourites. The lao sausage had a sauce that accompanied it but it wasn’t our type of combination we would enjoyed. The sauce did help the dish be less dry though but a different sauce would have made it a whole lot better
I recently had a meal at West End Coffee House, and it was quite an interesting culinary experience. Here's what we ordered: the King's Omelette with rice and chicken mince, Pad Kapow with Holy Basil Stir-fry and chicken mince, Saturday’s special Kor Moo Yang (grilled pork neck, sticky rice, and cucumber), along with iced coffee and Thai iced tea with milk.
Most of the dishes had good flavors, but I have to mention that the Pad Kapow turned out to be a bit too salty for our taste. As for the Saturday's special, the Kor Moo Yang, while tasty, didn't quite provide the authentic Thai taste I was expecting. It tasted more like "Hainanese chicken" instead. Perhaps it could have been improved by serving it with Nam Jim Jaew (Thai chili dipping sauce) for a more authentic Thai experience.
However, the iced Thai tea was a pleasant surprise, with a hint of lime that made it really refreshing. It was the perfect choice to cool down on a hot day.
In summary, West End Coffee House offers a variety of Thai dishes, and although there were a few minor issues in our experience, it's still a place worth exploring, especially if you're looking for Thai-inspired drinks on a scorching day.
Coffee was nice and seems more on the artisanal side with light, fruity and more acidic flavours. There was an interesting selection of Asian fusion dishes. However I do NOT recommend getting the "Chinese Dumplings" for $14 as you'll get four sad little deep fried chive sandwiches, which will be finished in four bites. Very misleading, sub par flavour and not worth the high price.
Small and nice ambient coffee shop. Pad Thai missing the balance of the chilies and it is not made using flat rice noddle. However, overall, it is good! I will definitely recommend the ice tea! Would like to taste some other dishes another day!
This place has proudly outdone for the high rating!
Very small entrance with long line of people waiting around 10:30 am during the weekend, you can’t miss the spot.
Simple menu with careful Thai twist and heartwarming drinks menu make this place.
I had a fried egg dish - super authentic way of making these eggs. Condiment was so tasty - nothing like home dish from Thailand.
If you have time to wait for some minutes, so worth it.
I would say you can just order any dish randomly in menu and then just enjoy your perfect meal for this morning!!! The service also as fabulous as their food, I highly recommend everyone who loves Southeast Asian food to try this restaurant, and I bet they won’t disappoint you!
I recently visited West End Coffee House and found the food to be just okay. The flavors were good but the food was overwhelmed by a torrent of salty textures. However, the ice Thai coffee was delicious. It was just what I needed on a hot summers day. Overall, the food was not exceptional, but the ice Thai coffee made the experience somewhat worthwhile even though it was 95% ice.
